Sunography - Solar powered photography.
Place any object or transparency on the sunography paper, expose it to bright sunlight, and rinse with water to reveal a rich blue print.
Sunography paper is 100% cotton archival watercolour paper, light-sensitive on both sides for two-sided prints. The superior quality and weight of Sunography paper produces finely detailed prints that are suitable for tinting or hand colouring with any media. The prints can also be toned yellow or sepia using rinses with common household liquids.
Sunography paper is an excellent platform for creativity. Use old photo negatives, x-rays, bits of lace, leaves, household objects or printed transparencies to compose designs. Sunlight sensitive paper (the cyanotype) was a forerunner of modern photographic processes. This type of paper dates back to 1842 and was popularised by Anna Atkin, one of the first female photographers.
