This 'baby' Alpaca fibre is taken from the neck and nape of the animal and is often from the first shearing of an alpaca, giving you the softest, most beautiful fibre the animal is likely to produce. Treasure of the ancient Inca civilisation, alpaca was considered "the fibre of the Gods" and could be worn only by kings during ceremonies. Our alpaca yarn comes from populations bred in the Andean Highlands, making their wool extremely strong, elastic, soft and fine. Its hypoallergenic and thermal properties make it the best yarn for babies. This yarn gives cashmere a run for its money. Soft and fine, it’s amazing for more delicate knits.
