Derwent Medium Charcoal Pencil

Derwent Charcoal Pencils are especially easy to use, combining natural charcoal particles with the finest clays for a smooth finish. Charcoal was one of the earliest drawing materials and is still extremely popular for dramatic sketches and drawings. It is naturally watersoluble, allowing you to create interesting wash effects. A round, 8 mm diameter pencil with a 5 mm strip. Textures vary between grades. The dark grade has a soft and smooth feel and the light grade has a ‘grittier’ texture. Traditional charcoal is ideal for studies and finished drawings and as it is soluble in water, a wide range of tones can be created.
