The Story

Paper raffia yarn made from 100% wood fibre with many creative uses. Use raffia yarn for knitting, crocheting, weaving, decoration and so on. Raffia is 100% biodegradable and can be washed gently by hand.

Depending on the desired expression and application, we recommend no. 5 or 5.5 size knitting needles and no. 4.5 or 5 crochet needles..

Raffia yarn can tolerate heat up to 200 °C. The natural look of raffia make it a beautiful material to use for home decor in a wide range of contexts – including knitted or crocheted trivets, placemats etc. The raffia ribbon is also ideal for winding and weaving into coiled baskets, bowls and so on. In addition, raffia paper yarn is ideal for adding detail effects, for example on faux leather paper. Try sewing with raffia, for example, or adding fringes to faux leather paper
