The Story
Tamiya reissues the 1:12 Yamaha FZR750R OW01, now updated with a new double sided B5 colour pamphlet featuring detailed reference photos of the real bike. First shown at the 1988 Paris Show, the limited edition OW01 was a street legal “works racer” based on the YZF750 endurance machine that dominated the Suzuka 8 hour in 1987 and 1988.
Powered by a 5 valve DOHC inline 4 engine and built with titanium connecting rods, enlarged ports, and Yamaha’s EXUP system, it delivered outstanding performance. The Deltabox aluminium frame and swing arm suspension ensured exceptional strength and weight savings. With only a thousand produced, the OW01 remains a rare icon, and this detailed kit offers a rewarding build for motorbike fans and collectors.
